An hour at home with

It is a home as charming as they come, where pattern plays across every surface and every layer feels collected with an editors eye and a mothers heart. It is a place where toys fold naturally into the mix, where children’s artwork earns a place beside treasured finds, and where even the wedding china chosen with unmistakable clarity feels woven into the story. It is lived in, joyful, inspiring, and unmistakably hers.

Hannah has a gift for collecting pieces that spark conversation. Angel chimes brought home from Sweden. The English table from Fairhope where she sits to address her holiday cards. Hand made charms created by her mother, tiny treasures that add warmth and memory throughout the house. And in the living room, a wooly sheep stationed just so for a touch of texture and whimsy that captures her imaginative spirit.

Stepping into Hannah’s home feels like wandering into a world full of creativity and welcome, where every room invites you in. There is an ease to it, a breath of fresh air quality that makes you want to linger. She creates beauty without pretense, joy without clutter, and moments that stay with you long after you have said goodbye.

Tell us the story of finding your home

Around this time last year, just after our son turned one, we realized we didn’t love living in the city anymore...The constant traffic, the hour-long drive to my parents, and the looming school decisions all nudged us toward Sandy Springs, closer to where we hoped to send Georgie to school, and closer to my family. When this little cottage popped up, we instantly fell for its charm—though the interior, especially the kitchen, needed serious love. Our realtor convinced us it was a project worth taking on, and since we adored the home’s old bones, we decided to dive in. Even with zero background in interiors, the process became such a fun learning experience, and now I can't believe we get to wake up in our little cottage every single day.

What's one ritual you do that makes it feel like your space?

Each morning, I get Georgie's breakfast ready before he wakes up so our time together doesn't feel rushed. We eat in the living room on the floor and read books together. Its the most wonderful way to start our day before the hectic nature of life with a two-year-old kicks in.

What's one item around the house that you hold especially sacred?

I have a few pieces of furniture that my grandfather made for us out of wood from the North Georgia mountains where we have a family cabin. He's 86 now and doesn't make big pieces of furniture anymore, so its very special to have them. The big armoire in the dining room is one of those pieces. He always carves shamrocks or Celtic crosses into them as a reminder of our Irish heritage. I also have a needlepointed stool with an Irish wedding blessing on it that my grandmother stiched for our wedding. We'll have it forever...It does drive me crazy though when people actually use it as a foot stool, ha! It's art to me.

How do you pull your interiors together?

My approach to interiors is completely instinctual, anything I love off the bat, and inspired mostly by the charm of a Cotswolds cottage. I’m drawn to spaces that feel cozy, layered, a little bit wonky, and full of personality...Nothing too precious, just warm and lived-in. I mix family heirlooms with fun, heritage prints, and I love hunting through antique shops for english or dutch antiques. For me, decorating is about creating a home that feels fun, that shows who you are as a family, visually.

Five things you are currently placing on a pedestal?

  1. I Always, always, always spending time with Georgie and soaking in every second of his childhood.
  2. II Making everyday tasks, magical. My favorite follow for this is @megbussacca
  3. III Hats, bonnets, & balaclavas!! Its cold, so lets lean in to the season.
  4. IV Almond croissants.
  5. V FUN. We are here to enjoy life after all. I refuse to take anything too seriously.
